Questions

What people ask before they apply.

Every requirement here is published in the TPBOK™ Guide and on the credential pages.

Do I need a core credential first?

The published prerequisite is experience in the area, not a core credential. Specialized credentials sit beside the four core credentials, so you can take one at any stage. Check your experience to see where it fits in your route.

How much experience do I need?

Typical candidates have 2+ years of hands-on work in the area. The exact prerequisite is shown above.

Can I take more than one specialized credential?

Yes. Most people take one or two. The Check your experience page orders them for you and never plans more than two exams a year.

How long does the LLMP® last, and how do I renew?

Three years. In each cycle you log your Technical Development Units and submit them for audit. Renewal costs $99 for members and $179 for non-members.

Who teaches the preparation course?

Only licensed Authorized Training Partners. Every instructor must hold the credential and pass an annual Certified IICTP Instructor evaluation. Find a partner.

How does an employer check my LLMP®?

They enter your credential ID or name in the public registry and see your status and dates in a signed record. Open the registry.

Show depth where you work.

Check where your experience stands, then prepare with an Authorized Training Partner when you are ready.
